Anyone aged over 16 who is eligible for a Covid-19 booster can get one from today.
It comes after the Health Minister accelerated the COVID-19 vaccination programme this weekend
From today, designated HSE vaccination centres are offering booster doses to all of those aged 16 and older who are eligible, on an appointment only basis.
Appointments can be made online, and GPs and community pharmacies are also providing this service.
Those aged 16 to 29 will be offered the Pfizer booster, while those aged over 30 will be offered Moderna.
A booster clinic for 16 - 29 year olds will be held in Moate Youth and Community Sports Centre on Monday 3 January, 2pm to 7pm.
The Moderna jab is not suitable for those aged under 30.
The accelerated rollout of the booster comes in light of a major surge in cases of Covid-19 over the Christmas and New Year period.
Yesterday, 23,281 new cases of Covid-19 were reported, the highest daily total to date.
