EV sales in Offaly have almost doubled in 12 months.
There's been a significant rise in the number of new electric vehicles being registered in the midlands.
New figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show sales have surged 84% in Offaly, from 44 units in the first quarter of last year, to 82 this year.
Only Tipperary has seen a bigger percentage increase, at 115.
New EV sales in Westmeath are up 57%, from 87 in 2024, to 137 this year.
135 new electric vehicles were registered in Laois in the first three months of 2025, that's up 40 units on the same time last year, a 42% increase.
