The three-day event was due to be held in Laois this September.
The economic loss to the midlands of the trade exhibition at the National Ploughing Championships being cancelled is around €50 million.
That figure comes from Assistant Managing Director of the event.
Anna-Marie McHugh is hitting out at the level of communication from senior cabinet members on the issue.
