Registrations of new EV cars in the midlands are up a third on this time last year.
Demand for electric vehicles in the midlands is continuing to soar.
New figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry shows new EV registrations in the region are up by almost a third in the year to November, when compared to the same period last year.
Westmeath leads the way in the regard, with over 270 new EVs registered so far this year - that's followed by 213 in Laois and 167 in Offaly.
Overall car registrations are up by around 8% in the region this year - nationally, that figure is 15%.
