The Meath/Westmeath Division recorded a low breath testing rate compared to Laois-Offaly last year.
New Garda figures show there's a wide discrepancy between the Midlands Garda divisions when it comes to testing for drink driving.
Just 3.4% of drivers were breathalysed lat year in the Meath/Westmeath Division, compared to over 10% in Laois-Offaly, according to the Irish Independent.
The numbers also tell us the amount of motorists being fined for road offences has hit post-pandemic record levels.
However, a 3% drop in drink and drug driving testing last year comes at the same time as a 7% increase in road deaths.
The figure of 183 fatalities is highest total in the last decade.
