Being a role model for women in sport is a big ambition.
That's the goal of Hollie Ogilvie from Durrow, who was the winner of the Laois/Offaly Garda Youth Awards in 2023.
She was recognised for her sporting achievements in free style Kayaking and contributions to growing women in sport in her home club.
Ms Ogilvie is currently studying maths and economics in the University of Limerick as well as competing in both Kayaking and Hockey.
She says she wants to be a role model for women in sport:
Meanwhile, 2024 winner Matthew Doyle from Portlaoise, was recognised for his volunteer work with his local youth group.
