Laois County Council could be set to receive approval to buy a derelict building that once housed the first Ken Black store.
The Council lodged a formal application with An Coimisiún Pleanála last Thursday to purchase the building at 88 Main Street, Pepper's Lane / Lyster Lane in Portlaoise.
The local authority is describing the property as being in a "state of dereliction".
The building was previously owned by the Black family in Portlaoise and became the first Ken Black toy store over 40 years ago.
The case is due to be decided by August 3rd.
