An Coimisiún Pleanála granted permission for the hospice yesterday.
The delivery of the Midlands Hospice is long overdue, according to a Hospice Fundraising Committee in the region.
This comes after planning permission for the Midlands Hospice was granted by An Coimisiún Pleanála following a prolonged period of submissions, debates and appeals.
The new €24 million hospice is set to include 20 inpatient beds, Day therapy unit, Education Centre and car parking and EV charging facilities.
