Friends of Mullingar Hospital are highlighting the cost of not having a scanner in the hospital.
A long-awaited MRI Scanner for a midlands hospital could be operational within the next 5 weeks.
It was installed in the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar last year, and is due to start being commissioned this Monday.
Friends of Mullingar Hospital raised almost €1m to buy the scanner.
Its chairman, John McGrath says they have faced many delays over the years but they are hopeful all the set-backs are now behind them:
