A house in the midlands will set buyers back around €272,000 on average, according to a new report.
Daft.ie has released its House Price Report for the fourth quarter of 2024.
The most expensive homes in the midlands are in Westmeath at over €291,000 on average.
In Offaly, the price comes to just under €266,500, that's followed by Laois in the region at more than €258,000.
Each of the three counties has seen a year on year increase of more than 10%, the highest increase in Westmeath at a 14% rise.
The report shows prices to be 9% higher at the end of 2024 when compared to the same period a year previous.
The availability of second hand homes is also at an all time low, with only 10,500 on the market to buy as of December 1st, the lowest on record since the beginning of the series in 2007.
The cheapest homes are in Leitrim, the only county with an average below €200,000, while homes are priced around €682,000 in South County Dublin, the most expensive nationally.
