Michael McCann of Cloonagh Lower, Drumlish, Co. Longford, appeared before Longford District Court.
A court has heard a Midlands man accused of stealing €15,000 of property from the owner of a agricultural firm told Gardai that he asked for it.
31 year-old Michael McCann of Cloonagh Lower, Drumlish, Co Longford was brought before a sitting of Longford District Court on six theft charges between November 2023 and March 2024.
He made his comment shortly after his arrest to another theft charge between June 2020 and March 2024, with all offences having taken place at McKeon Agri in Drumlish.
€100 in cash had been allegedly taken each time.
The judge also noted a number of conditions had been agreed on before court, including orders to stay away from McKeon's Agri and for Mr McCann to surrender his passport.
McCann was remanded on bail to another sitting of Longford District Court on November 3rd, where a book of evidence will be served.
