Midlands Man Climbing Everest Without Additional Oxygen Hits 5,000m Mark

James says he's conscious of not pushing himself too hard as he ascends.

A midlands man climbing Mount Everest without supplementary oxygen says he's feeling the effects of the altitude.

Roscrea's James McManus is on day 13 of his journey and has already hiked 5,000 metres.

If successful, he'll be one of about 200 people to have made the climb without extra oxygen, and the first Irish man to do so.
