A Westmeath man is aiming to become the first person with Down Syndrome to be elected to Fianna Fáil's National Executive.

Fintan Bray is looking for votes from his fellow party members to take a seat on the influential Executive.

The 28 year old Delvin man, who works in Clonabreaney House in Meath, comes from a family steeped in politics, with his father Eamon a lifelong member of Fianna Fáil.

Party members will vote at the Ard Fheis in September.
