Midlands MEP Wants Attention On Drinks Industry Amid 15% Tariff

Irish drinks producers are facing a tariff.

Concern is developing about the future for Irish distillers who export to the US. 

Irish Whiskey and drinks producers face a 15% tariff after the EU and US released a statement on their trade deal. 

The sector wants a return to zero-to-zero to ease pressure on firms. 

It follows yesterday's announcement that pharmaceutical exports will be under a 15% tariff - something Midlands MEP Barry Cowen is labelling as a success.
