Midlands Professor Appointed to National Science Advice Forum

The scientist has supervised 40 PhDs, 14 MScs and 17 postdoctoral researchers.

A Midlands academic is being made a member of Ireland’s new National Science Advice Forum. 

Professor and Director of the Bioscience Research Institute at Technological University of the Shannon, Neil J Rowan was chosen for his extensive expertise in applied bioscience and innovation. 

Minister James Lawless is appointing the first 12 members, marking a key step in delivering the Government’s Impact 2030 research strategy. 

The Forum will strengthen evidence based policymaking across departments.
