The midlands is seeing more than double the growth of the next best region.
The midlands saw the largest level of growth in the country in 2023.
The IDA says there's been an increased number of investments, steady levels of employment across the FDI sector, and robust regional investment around Ireland this year.
The midlands recorded 5.8% growth, more than double the rate of the next-best region, being the Border.
132 investments were secured across the country this year.
Spokesperson on Economic Development, Enterprise and Tourism with Mullingar Chamber, John Geoghegan, says he expects the rate of growth to continue:
Minister Enterprise Trade & Employment, Simon Coveney says:
"The results announced today by IDA Ireland are indicative of a resilient Ireland that, despite huge global challenges, remains an attractive destination for global companies to locate, build and grow their business.
The work of IDA Ireland is pivotal to the delivery of the government’s White Paper on Enterprise and the results delivered today show an impressive, sustained performance despite challenges experienced in the global tech industry in the past 15 months.
This reinforces the importance of a diversified economy across a variety of sectors."
