She feels social welfare increases still don't match the cost of living.

Budget 2022 is stale from beginning to end, according to a midlands Sinn Féin TD.

Longford-Westmeath's Sorca Clarke says it shows the government is still willing to protect high earners while essential services go underfunded.

She says while increases in the social welfare are welcome, they don't match the rising cost of living.

The rate at which people pay the higher rate of tax has been increased by €1,500, but Deputy Clarke says that's not enough:
