Midlands TD Claims Cyber Security Agency Operating On "Shoestring Budget"

The primary state body has a budget of €4m. 

A Midlands TD wants to front load the implementation of a cyber security strategy outlined in the programme for government. 

Cathal Berry says the presence of a large number of multi-national's makes Ireland particularly vulnerable to electronic attacks. 

The primary state body with responsibility for cyber security in Ireland has just 24 staff and a budget of €4m.
