Midlands TD Expects Two Metre Social Distancing Will Be Reduced In Weeks

The chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee is concerned about the economic impact

The chairman of the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee says the two metre guidance on social distancing will be reduced in a matter of weeks. 

Laois-Offaly TD Sean Fleming believes Ireland will adopt a one metre policy when it's safe to do so, aiding businesses as they begin to reopen. 

A number of European countries have already reduced social distancing measures after the World Health Organisation updated its advice. 

The Fianna Fáil deputy says making the change will help speed up economic recovery:
