Further blockades and demonstrations are expected across the Midlands today.
The Minister for European Affairs is demanding a Midlands MEP "correct the record" after he said there were tanks on the streets of Ireland yesterday.
Ciaran Mullooly made the comments in the European Parliament following the government's decision to deploy the Army to remove vehicles blocking fuel depots across the country.
More demonstrations are planned for today with access to the M7 around Portlaoise and the N52 around Tullamore expected to be blocked off.
