The motorist was recorded at 179km/h in a 60 zone in Granard in County Longford.
Three people were killed, including a young boy in Westmeath, and 12 others received "serious and life-threatening injuries" over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
It follows an extensive Garda operation, which ended this morning.
Over 2,800 drivers were detected for speeding since the Garda operation came into place on Thursday morning.
Among the notable speeds recorded was a motorist going 179km/h in a 60 zone - nearly triple the speed limit - in Granard in County Longford.
Another driver was caught doing 125km/h in a 50 zone in Castlepollard.
225 drivers were caught using mobile phones, 73 weren't wearing a seatbelt, and there were 160 unaccompanied learner drivers detected.
