Much-Needed Laois Flood Relief Project Expected To Move 'At Much Faster Pace'

The scheme has met a number of delays.

The OPW says the delivery of a Laois flood relief scheme should move 'at a much faster pace' from now on.

The Mountmellick project has met a number of delays, due to a change in scope to include a large scheme area, development of the Owenass Bridge, and an assessment of drainage works.

Construction is due to begin on the scheme in July 2025, with an expected completion date of 2029.
