The course will cover health and safety and functional maths.
A new apprenticeship course aimed at members of the Traveller community is being launched this evening in the midlands.
Pre-Apprenticeship for Travellers is a Level 3 course offering education in computer literacy, health and afety awareness and functional mathematics.
No formal education is required for entry, though applicants will have to demonstrate a standard level of knowledge and may have attended primary and secondary school.
During the launch, a handmade silver jug was presented to Offaly County Cathaoirleach, Tony McCormack and Solas CEO Andrew Brownlee as well as the unveiling of a new plaque.
