Kieran Kelly, originally from Rathdowney, moved to London in the 1940s, and is now regarded as the one of the most infamous serial killers in British history.
After a four year investigation of his story, journalist Robert Mulhern has published Secrets of a Serial Killer", which is being launched in Naas next week.
The Laois man remains relatively unknown to the wider public and Mulhern says there are still questions around the the number of people Kelly murdered:
