That's according to Fianna Fail's Tony McCormack, with the Offaly TD naming it as one of his highlights of the year.
During the December meeting of the local authority, the proposal to construct the 20-bed palliative care facility secured the required majority of votes.
The proposed Arden Lane development in Tullamore constitutes a significant deviation from the Offaly County Development Plan.
