No Indication Of Meningitis Outbreak In Ireland - HSE

That's despite an outbreak in the UK.

The HSE says there is no indication of an increase in meningococcal disease, in light of a major outbreak in the UK.

It's only seeing expected background and seasonal levels.

12 cases have been reported in Ireland in 2026 so far - last year saw 60 cases recorded.

In Kent in England, 27 cases have been linked to an outbreak at a university and two people have died.
