Offaly County Council Hoping To Capitalise On Lowry Success

They're want to use his Open win to bring tourism to the county.

Offaly County Council will look to capitalise on Shane Lowry's Open success by launching a new golf brochure. 

It's part of a number of new initiatives earmarked for 2020 which will see the local authority aim to attract more festivals to the county. 

Tourism Officer Olive Farrelly is highlighting a social media post surrounding the Clara man's victory at Portrush reaching 35,000 people as an example of the market that's available. 

She says more will be done to showcase Offaly as a brand:
