An Offaly family is encouraging anyone considering fostering a child to take the plunge.
At the moment, there are over 250 foster families in the midlands - but Tusla says they need others to get involved to meet the demand.
Eric Sheppard from Birr says it's something he and his wife Linda were always interested in and started out with respite fostering at weekends, when their own children had grown up.
