People in the midlands are being advised to take care today, with a status yellow wind warning in place.
It's in effect for Offaly, Westmeath and 15 counties until 8 o'clock this evening - with winds of 90 to 100 km/h forecast in midland areas.
Conditions are expected to ease again tonight but Rhode's Cathal Nolan from Ireland's Weather Channel says a yellow warning should still be taken seriously:
