Dutch industrialist Dr. Tiede Herrema was held for 36 days in 1975 by the republican group hoping to negotiate the release of prisoners from Portlaoise prison.
He was eventually released unharmed from a house in Monasterevin in County Kildare, following a siege involving the army.
