It's the only midlands county to secure the LEADER funding.
Offaly is the only county in the midlands to be offered an additional €500,000 as part of the LEADER Local Action Group scheme.
The Department of Rural and Community Development carried out a study to find out the best performing areas that had approved and drawn down previous funds.
The Faithful County was part of the top ten best performing areas, which also includes Mayo, Tipperary and Leitrim.
It follows a warning from Minister Michael Ring that allocated funds not used will be re-distributed to other areas.
