Offaly Road Flooded Once Again

Relief works have been commissioned for the road, but may not be carried out until 2028.

Flood relief works on a hazardous road in Offaly may not be carried out until 2028.

Motorists are being advised to avoid Botley Lane in Portarlington again today, as the road is flooded due to heavy rainfall.

The lane has been an area of frequent flooding over the years, with rainfall making the road inaccessible at least once per year.

Sinn Féin Councillor Aidan Mullins says a relief scheme is on the way, but works on a neighbouring town must be carried out first:
