An Offaly woman is talking about the life-changing affect of getting an Autism diagnosis at the age of 44.
Michelle Kenny from Clara developed selective mutism a year before she started school.
She says she could never communicate effectively in social settings and depended on her sister.
Selective mutism is classified as an anxiety disorder by the World Health Organisation.
Ms Kenny received an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD diagnosis within the span of two years as an adult which changed her life.
She says her diagnosis led to her going to college, and receiving supports:
