An online fundraiser has been launched to support a Westmeath St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The annual event in Athlone was put in jeopardy when last year's organisers resigned due to the volume of abuse they were receiving on social media.
However, the town's Chamber of Commerce is stepping in to keep the parade going.
The volunteers involved have now set up a GoFundMe page, and are appealing to local people and businesses to help hit the target of €5,000.
