Over 588,000 people are on outpatient waiting lists across the country.
Almost 1,200 people have been waiting over 18 months for an outpatient appointment in midlands hospitals.
Almost 900 of those are in Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar, while just over 300 are in Portlaoise.
No patients of Tullamore hospital have been left waiting for longer than a year and a half.
In total, there are currently over 588,000 people on outpatient waiting lists, nationally, over 26,000 of which are in the midlands hospitals.
