There's been uproar since it emerged a Dublin-based company will be taking over the service.
An online petition calling for the contract for the bike hire service at Lough Boora to be returned to a local man has reached over 12,500 signatures.
Pat Barrett has been running the service at the Offaly amenity for over a decade.
However, it emerged last weekend that Bord na Móna has now awarded the tender to Dublin-based company CK Cycles.
The decision has sparked anger in the midlands, for not supporting local business or keeping in line the Just Transition process.
The petition is to be given to Bord na Móna reps at a meeting with local TDs Carol Nolan and Barry Cowen next week.
