Laois and Offaly saw the biggest year on year increase.
Over 1,400 electric cars have been registered in the Midlands in the year to September.
557 cars have been registered in Westmeath, 552 in Laois and 344 in Offaly.
Laois and Offaly both saw the biggest year on year increase at 93% with Westmeath at 82%.
September also saw an 80% increase in new electric cars registered, compared with the same month last year.
It comes as SIMI is calling on the Government to extend Battery Electric Vehicle supports in the Budget.
