The Department of Housing has released the latest figures.
155 people in the midlands were officially recorded as homeless last month.
For the seventh month running, the national homelessnesss figure remains over 10,000.
According to the latest statistics from the Department of Housing, a total of 10,397 people were homeless in Ireland in September.
Almost four thousand of those were children.
Here in the midlands, 94 adults stayed in emergency accommodation - 43 men and 51 women.
Offaly leads with 36 - the figure was slightly lower in Westmeath at 33 - while 17 adults accessed emergency accommodation in Laois - and 8 in Longford.
26 families were recorded as homeless, including 18 single-parent families and 61 dependents.
