He passed away last week.
More than $43,000 has been raised in an effort to bring home the body of a midlands man from New Zealand.
Bill Lawlor, who played with Ballyskenach-Killavilla GAA, was working as a firefighter down under since 2003.
He passed away last Wednesday night.
His family hope to bring him -- along with his wife and one year old son home in the next week.
Ballyskenach-Killavilla GAA says the community is shock after hearing of the untimely passing of one of their former club members.
The dad of one had played with Ballyskenach in every grade and was part of the team who won county minor a titles in 1990.
In a post on Facebook, the club is extended its deepest sympathy to the extended Lawlor Family and says all donations to the fund would be greatly appreciated.
