The State wants hot meals in schools to be universal by 2030.
53 schools in the midlands have been added to the hot meals scheme.
The figures are 16 in offaly, 19 Laois, and 18 in Westmeath.
Nationally, 900 schools have joined the list with 2,000 now on availing of the program.
The State say they want all primary-level children to have the right to access a hot meal in their education setting by 2030.
