The Mother of a Midlands teenager is potentially facing life in prison after pleading guilty to the sexual exploitation of her son.
The woman and her husband have pleaded guilty to a number of charges following a sentencing hearing in Offaly this week.
Tullamore District Court heard the woman, had sexual intercourse with her son who was 16 at the time, while the victim's father filmed the act from behind a locked door.
The Irish Times is reporting the Mother, who is in her 30s, pleaded guilty to defilement of a child, sexual exploitation, and willful neglect.
The Father who is also in his 30s is pleading guilty to aiding and abetting her, knowingly producing child pornography, and detaining or restricting his son for sexual exploitation and willful neglect.
Neither are being named to protect the identity of their victim.
The court heard gardaí were alerted to the case when the son escaped the family home through his bedroom window, and cycled to a friends house
Two separate incidents took place in the family home on January 12th last year.
In a victim impact statement the son said recurring nightmares meant he barely slept and he had fallen out with his sister who did not believe what happened.
The parents have both written letters of apology with his Mother saying she betrayed his trust, and did not expect forgiveness.
The father said he accepted his behaviour was appalling.
Both were remanded in custody before sentencing is finalised tomorrow.
