It'll now run until May 5th.
Laois County Council is extending a suspension of parking charges in its car parks.
The measures will now be in place until the 5th of May in line with government restrictions.
It'll be applicable in Portlaoise, Portarlington and Mountmellick but other offences such as unauthorised parking, on footpaths, in loading bays or in disabled parking bays, parking on double yellow lines will be enforced.
They say the decision is being taken to support social distancing, reduce cash/coin transactions, recognises reduced demand for medium/long term car parking and is geared to assist in the local, collective response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
