The bosy has overturned a refusal from Westmeath County Council.
A decision to refuse permission for a housing development in Westmeath has been overturned by An Bord Pleanála.
Planning has now been granted for 71 housing units, including 30 apartments and 41 two storey houses are coming to Ardmore Road in Mullingar.
Westmeath County Council refused the proposal in May of last year, after which the developer Shaston Construction Limited appealed to the planning body.
The project has been granted subject to 23 conditions.
