The proposal would see eight 187m turbines built across the county.
Plans for a wind farm stretching through 64 hectares of Offaly and Kildare have been rejected by Offaly County Council.
Cloncant Renewable Energy was behind the proposed 30 year development project.
The proposal including provisions for eight turbines from Geashill to Edenderry with a ninth turbine being located in Carbury just over the border in Co.Kildare.
Other aspects of the planning application contained around 5km of access roads, 3.5kms of upgrades to existing roads along with building an outdoor gym and a 3km recreational trail.
