Two councillors are teaming up with a novel idea.
Two Offaly councillors are teaming up to propose tighter restrictions for election posters.
Independent John Leahy and Mark Hackett of the Green Party say community and Tidy Towns groups are becoming increasingly opposed to candidates erecting posters in villages and town centres.
They're suggesting 20 reusable, multi-purpose billboards could be used instead.
Councillor Leahy feels the idea would save significant money and workload, as well as improving the appearance of the county.
He says the proposal is being supported by the council and reckons it come be implemented by the next local election:
