The Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee is seeking an apology after being referred to as "loopers" by members of the Department of Health.
The committee chair, Laois-Offaly TD Brian Stanley is making the call, and says the term "should not be thrown around", given the mental health issues some face.
Prior to a meeting of the two groups last December, a senior member of the Department's finance unit could be heard saying "there are a few loopers" among the PAC, and continues that head of the Health Department Robert Watt is "well able for them".
