Public Consultation On Shannon Pipeline Closes

The largest water project in the State's history will run through the Midlands.

The Housing Minister says the Shannon pipeline is vital for the country.

It comes as the public consultation on the plan, which will be the largest water project in Irish history, closes today.

It will see water pumped from the River Shannon, transported across the Midlands, to boost supply in the east of the country, but is facing local opposition.
