A public meeting on Climate House Ireland's proposal for Moydrum is taking place on June 18th at TUS Athlone.
Plans for a climate action and heritage attraction have been revived in Westmeath.
The Climate House Ireland project was originally proposed in 2024 for a five hectare BnM site on Ballaghurt bog in the Offaly townland of Clonaderig.
That plan was shelved, with efforts now focused on a site in Moydrum, Athlone, which would also include a broadcast museum centred around the Marconi transmitter on site.
A public meeting on the proposal is taking place on Thursday, June 18th, in the Douglas Hyde Theatre on the TUS Athlone campus.
Local councillors have already been briefed on plans, with Independent Ireland Councillor Paul Hogan saying it needs consent from all sides:
