A Fianna Fail Senator says retired HSE staff are due a bit of a windfall in back payments to their pensions.

It's due to a computer system developed a glitch which resulted in some payments not being processed.

Delays in updating a payroll system have led to the problems for up to 44,000 pensioners.

Westmeath Senator Aidan Davitt says he's confident the problem will be fixed and a tidy little sum will go into people accounts:
