Seizures were made in the Midlands, Dublin and Rosslare Europort.
Over the past week, commencing 06/04/2026, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €158,000 in various operations in the Midlands, Dublin and Rosslare Europort.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
- 40,000 tabs of benzodiazepines, with an estimated value of €80,000,
- 96 counterfeit items, with an estimated value of over €41,700,
- 1.2kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €23,900,
- Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €5,800, and representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €4,200, and
- Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of almost €5,200.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Sam and Ciara. The parcels originated from the US, the UK, Poland, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, India, and the Czech Republic, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. Sixteen weapons accessories were also seized.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
